The first of these is capable of 188 horsepower with 221 pounds-feet of torque. It's likewise capable of 24 miles per gallon on city roads and 35 miles per gallon on the highway. The more powerful version, meanwhile, can produce up to 302 horsepower with 295 pounds-feet of torque.

The BMW 2-Series can offer comparable performance options, but the Audi A3 and the Lexus CT don't measure up. And you won't get the same sense of sport in a BMW 2-Series as you would in the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
